Commissioning

We’re looking to support a handful of high-impact documentaries to play on the world stage with some of the best names in the business.

Knowledge is committed to commissioning several first-rate, first window projects each year.

Projects will be accepted from Canadian independent producers, but priority will be given to BC producers. Commissions are intended to be scheduled in our Storyville timeslot where the focus is on contemporary, author-driven creative documentaries. This is our marquee strand, reserved for big films that will generate buzz, reel in the awards - and audiences. Your project should be a one-hour documentary with a strong point of view or central character. If a feature-length film is also being made, we will require both versions.

New Commissioning Initiatives 2011-2012
