George Gently I
Martin Shaw stars as George Gently - a policeman with a strong sense of justice and a fearsome reputation - in this new detective series set in 1960s Britain. The hunt for his wife's killer see Gently join forces with the young Sergeant Bacchus, who finds himself both thrilled and daunted to be working for the legendary detective.

Reconsidering renewing my KN membership after watching just two episodes of George Gently I!
Having enjoyed such established detective mystery series like Touch of Frost, Prime Suspect, Dalziel & Pascoe, Midsomer Murders over several years, this script with an experienced detective having to put up with a know all junior sergeant (Bacchus) half his age borders on the amateurish.
A very pale comparison to the quality of crime detective programs Knowledge Network has purchased in the past

I loved this series and hope Knowledge will be getting more episode . It was a nice change from the usual, predictable mysteries.
