When suburban housewife, Margery, and her 'rough diamond' of a cleaner, Gladys, disturb a house burglar, they knock him unconscious in self-protection, panic and leave him for dead. The two flee in Gladys' old wreck of a car, and what follows is a comedy of misunderstandings in which these two very different, mature ladies are led on a shared voyage of self-discovery. The couple takes to the open road and a fugitive lifestyle like ducks to water. However, without much cash and with Gladys' urgent need for medication, they're forced into an unfortunate series of incidents. Stars Penelope Keith and June Brown.
