I was a health and safety coordinator for a ship yard when a tow line snapped, recoiled, and struck my right arm while I was standing inside a tug boat. I was left with a compound fracture to my ulna while breaking my olecranon twice. I was rushed to Vancouver General Hospital where I underwent surgery 1 of 3. It took 18 months of physio and another 12 months of therapy for PTSD due to the accident. I lost approximately 10-20 degrees range of motion and experience chronic pain. Although it was an unfortunate event it helped me learn valuable life lessons while on my road to recovery.
