Knowledge Network Celebrates British Columbia Artists & Athletes

British Columbia’s Knowledge Network is premiering Take Me Home, a series of 38 short stories of home by renowned artists, athletes, artisans and arts patrons from British Columbia. The documentaries were produced by two B.C. independent production companies – Tara Hungerford and Eric Hogan’s Two Story Productions and David Martin’s Hyphen Communications -- working with 13 other directors.

Knowledge Network's New Broadcast Season Launches in HD

BURNABY – British Columbia’s Knowledge Network marked the start of its new broadcast season with the launch of Knowledge HD, the high definition channel of the public broadcast service. Distribution of Knowledge HD will roll out across the province throughout the fall.

Knowledge Network Partners with Centre for Digital Media to Launch Kids Web Project

Knowledge Kids has more good fun! A new web project has launched at developed by a great team of students from the Master of Digital Media program at the Centre for Digital Media (CDM).

The interactive experience provides opportunities for kids to learn more about the worlds of Luna, Chip and Inkie, the loveable hosts for Knowledge Kids. During their exploration of  the website young children will discover 'Easter eggs' - hidden elements that bring us inside Luna's observatory, Chip's birdhouse, and Inkie's studio.

Nelson B.C. Filmmaker Awarded $30,000 Knowledge Network Commission

British Columbia’s Knowledge Network has awarded Amy Bohigian of Watershed Productions a $30,000 commission as part of their History Shorts Competition – Nelson Edition. 

The competition and workshop was held in Nelson June 1 and 2 for filmmakers to pitch their best stories about the history of Nelson and the Kootenays. The historical documentaries will be created from still photographs - archival, historical and even personal photos – centred around the Kootenays region. 27 filmmakers applied to enter the competition, with 15 selected for the workshop and pitching  session.

Life In Vancouver Emergency Department Unfolds In New Documentary Series

Burnaby, B.C.  – British Columbia’s Knowledge Network has commissioned a six-part series and interactive web site to share the stories of women and men who support, manage and work in the emergency department at Vancouver General Hospital. The series will engage audiences through real life stories in emergency health care and the role it plays in our day to day lives.
