Burnaby, B.C. -- British Columbia’s Knowledge Network has received a $212,000 bequest from the estate of Doris Marion Beauchamp of Chemainus, B.C. It is the largest estate gift received since the establishment of the Endowment Fund in 2007. 

“We are so grateful to Mrs. Beauchamp, a Knowledge Partner for many years, for her generosity and enduring support,” said Rudy Buttignol, President and CEO of Knowledge Network Corporation. “Her thoughtful gift to the endowment will ensure great programs continue to be premiered on Knowledge Network for years to come.”

The 2014 Canadian Screen Awards nominees in film, television and digital media were announced today by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.

Blood Relative: Mumbai’s Forgotten Children, directed by B.C. filmmaker Nimisha Mukerji and commissioned by British Columbia’s Knowledge Network, received three nominations: Donald Brittain Award for Best Social Political/Documentary Program, Best Direction in a Documentary Program and Best Picture Editing in a Documentary Program or Series.
