Charlie Bird Explores the Ganges
Irish journalist Charlie Bird explores one of the most enchanting rivers on the planet - the mighty and sacred River Ganges. An explosion of colour, people, culture and history awaits Charlie on his 2,500 km journey from the Bay of Bengal to the river's source among the icy peaks of the Himalaya. As he travels through this diverse and beautiful land, Charlie witnesses the sacredness of "Mother Ga" and the central place it holds in people's lives.

Charlie Bird sets out on an adventure to explore the Ganges. After receiving a blessing at the temple on Sagar Island, he heads up to the Sundarbans - a UNESCO World Heritage site. Charlie travels through the ancient city of Allahabad, home to the biggest religious festival in India. From Haridwar, the foothills of the Himalayas, he travels through Rajaji National Park on his way to Rishikesh.
