The Troubled Man
A mistake leads to Wallander being suspended from the police force. With time on his hands, he begins to look into the disappearance of his daughter's father-in-law, who may have been involved in the death of a young sailor in the 1980s. (1 of 6)

An eight-year-old girl disappears on her way to school and Wallander, back from his suspension, takes on the case, eager to start working again. A young student walks in to the police station and reports her mother missing. The next day, the mother's burned body is found buried in the sand close to the family’s house.
