Vivaldi: The Four Seasons
Vivaldi's Four Seasons is one of the most popular and enduring of all musical works. Oddly, it is very rarely performed in its entirety. Norman Foster's Glass House, in the recently opened Botanical Gardens in Llandeilo, provides the perfect setting for a unique performance of the work by the Academy of St Martin's in the Field and German prodigy violinist, Julia Fischer. The four concertos, recorded over two days, have different lighting conditions, giving each season its own character. The performance encompasses both exterior and interior locations, and different musical and visual themes will emerge as the focus for each piece.
