Day 1 — Arrive in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Touch down in Halifax and enjoy an evening to yourself walking the vibrant streets of this coastal city.

Day 2 — Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hotel: Cambridge Suites Halifax

Get to know Halifax on your own, then enjoy a Meet and Greet with your fellow adventurers, your tour director, driver and tour guide.

Day 3 — Halifax, Nova Scotia to Moncton, New Brunswick

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Explore the Bay of Fundy and learn about the world's highest tides before taking a 300-million-year fossil journey at Joggins Fossil Cliffs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. End the day with an unforgettable lobster dinner on a lobster boat.

Day 4 — Moncton, New Brunswick to Saint John, New Brunswick

Delight in the natural wonders of the famous Hopewell Rocks nestled on the coast of the Bay of Fundy. Travel through Fundy National Park to Saint John, where you'll marvel at the Reversing Falls and immerse yourself in the city's rich history.

Day 5 — St. Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick

Wander the quaint and friendly village of Saint Andrews by-the-Sea and explore its small-town charm. After, step aboard for a whale watching adventure (weather permitting).

Day 6 — Saint John, New Brunswick to Digby, Nova Scotia

From New Brunswick, the tour heads to Digby, Nova Scotia - the scallop capital of the world. Savour its flavorful delights while experiencing the rich history of Acadian culture.

Day 7 — Digby, Nova Scotia to Halifax, Nova Scotia

Visit the French Acadian settling place of Grand Pré in the lush Annapolis Valley. Get swept up in the romance of the "Land of Evangeline" and end the day with a local winery tour and tasting.

Day 8 — Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia and South Shore Touring

Begin the day overlooking Peggy's Cove's world-famous lighthouse at breakfast, then explore fishing schooners at the historic town of Lunenburg.

Day 9 — Halifax, Nova Scotia to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Meal Plan: Continental Breakfast

Immerse yourself in the culture of Mi'kmaq Indigenous People at the Millbrook Cultural and Heritage Centre. Cross the Confederation Bridge - Canada's longest bridge - to Prince Edward Island. Then enjoy a captivating theatre performance at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.

Day 10 — Prince Edward Island Tour

Meal Plan: Breakfast & Dinner

Hotel: Rodd Charlottetown

Rest and relax or venture out on a complimentary walking tour during a free morning in Charlottetown. Later, tour the beautifully scenic landscapes of Prince Edward Island National Park. Get in touch with your inner child by visiting the Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place and finish the evening with a scrumptious traditional lobster supper.

Day 11 — Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Meal Plan: Breakfast & Dinner

Hotel: Inverary Resort

Ferry towards the Northumberland Strait in Nova Scotia and cruise to Cape Breton Island, "the Scotland of North America". Visit the Alexander Graham Bell Heritage Centre in Baddeck before settling into accommodations at picturesque Bras d'Or Lake.

Day 12 — Cabot Trail Tour, Nova Scotia

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Boxed Lunch, Dinner

Journey along the wild and beautiful Cabot Trail and see the rugged shore that ascends to the plains of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. End the day with a whale-watching boat tour (weather permitting).

Day 13 — Baddeck, Nova Scotia to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador

Hotel: Marine Atlantic Ferry

Dive into Canadian history by visiting the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site and explore the reconstruction of the settlement. At North Sydney, hop aboard the Marine Atlantic Ferry for a peaceful overnight journey to idyllic Port aux Basques.

*The Marine Atlantic ferry schedule changes from year to year. A day crossing may be necessary and in that case you would overnight in Port aux Basques.

Day 14 — Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador to Port aux Choix, Newfoundland and Labrador

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Roam the Cordoy Valley towards the fishing community of Port aux Choix and dive into the deep historical culture of the peoples who have resided in the Port aux Choix Peninsula for over 5,000 years.

Day 15 — Port aux Choix, Newfoundland and Labrador to L'Anse au Clair, Newfoundland and Labrador

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Hotel: Northern Light Inn

Cruise from St. Barbe across the Strait of Belle Isle to Labrador where you'll reach the magical Red Bay National Historic Site, another UNESCO World Heritage Site with a captivating history.

Day 16 — L'Anse au Claire, Newfoundland and Labrador to St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Labrador

Arrive back in Newfoundland to explore the L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, a landmark known as the first-ever UNESCO World Heritage Site. Follow in the footsteps of the Vikings who walked the same paths over a thousand years ago.

Day 17 — St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Labrador to Cow Head, Newfoundland and Labrador

Meal Plan: Breakfast & Dinner

Hotel: Shallow Bay Motel & Cottages

Bask in the sea air with a morning whale watching tour (weather permitting), then travel to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park where you'll enjoy two nights of comfort and tranquility.

Day 17 — St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Labrador to Cow Head, Newfoundland and Labrador

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Boxed Lunch, Dinner

A special highlight of your trip to Newfoundland will be Gros Morne National Park. Take a boat ride along beautiful Bonne Bay where bald eagles soar. Gaze at the peaks of the Tablelands, a sight that will make you fall in love with Atlantic Canada.

Day 17 — St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Labrador to Cow Head, Newfoundland and Labrador

Cap off your whirlwind trip around Atlantic Canada with a stop at the Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse before continuing to Deer Lake Airport. There, you'll bid farewell to your fellow adventurers before flying back to Vancouver.

Eligibility:

  1. The Contest (hereinafter called "The Contest") is only open to those who are no younger than the age of majority in British Columbia as of date of entry, and who are legal residents of British Columbia. Individuals who are officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives (as well as the immediate family members or persons domiciled with them) of the Knowledge Network Corporation (herein after called "Knowledge"), its agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, and promotional and advertising agencies and administrators, are ineligible to enter. No purchase is necessary.

  2. The Contest runs from 12:01 am Pacific Time ("PT") on Friday, September 23rd, 2022, to 5 pm PT Monday, November 7, 2022 (the "Contest Period"). To be eligible, entries must be received by Knowledge no later than 5 pm PT on Monday, November7, 2022. The winner (hereinafter defined as the "Winner") will be determined by a random draw conducted by Knowledge on or about November 15, 2022. Odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received during the Contest Period.

  3. There are three (3) ways to enter (hereinafter defined as "Contest Entry"):

    1. Making a donation to Knowledge Network during the Contest Period will automatically result in a Contest Entry; OR
    2. If you are a monthly donor your monthly donation during the Contest Period will be your Contest Entry; OR
    3. Legibly print your name, address and telephone number on a plain piece of paper (no donation or other cash consideration is required) and mail to;

    Mail-in Contest Entries must be received by Monday November 7, 2022, at 5pm PT. Limit (hereinafter defined as the "Limit") one (1) Contest Entry per person regardless of method of entry. Duplication of mail-in Contest Entry may result in disqualification. Individuals making donations may request by phone, email or in writing that they may be excluded from The Contest by submitting a written request to the address above or by email to partners@knowledge.ca or by phone to 1-604-431-3222 or toll free to 1-977-456-6988, at anytime during the Contest Period. By submitting a Contest Entry, the entrant indicates that they have read and accepted the Contest Rules.

  4. Knowledge is not responsible for any entries that are lost, damaged, illegible, misdirected, postage due or undelivered. This includes lost or corrupted entries by donations made online. Any Contest Entries must be submitted by the entrant themselves. Any Contest Entries that are late, incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, unidentified, or delayed will be void. Contest Entries from the same person in excess of the Limit will not be accepted. Entrants may only use one (1) address

    and one (1) phone number in connection with this Contest. In the event Knowledge discovers attempts at multiple Contest Entries by one entrant using the same, different, or multiple addresses, identities, phone numbers, or other methods, such actions will void that entrant’s Contest Entries and such entrant shall be disqualified at the sole discretion of Knowledge. All Contest Entries are subject to verification. Proof of entry submission does not constitute proof of receipt of any Contest Entry by Knowledge.

  5. There is one (1) Prize package to be won (hereinafter defined as the "Prize"). Components of the Prize are subject to change and consist of each of the following:

    Included: Airfare and trip for two (2) (Vancouver – Halifax and Deer Lake-Vancouver), Eighteen (18) day Atlantic Tour, $2,500.00 (twenty-five hundred dollars) in cash, Eighteen (18) nights accommodation, Thirty-four (34) meals, One (1) dinner cruise (weather permitting), Three (3) Whale Watching Tours (weather permitting), Approximate value of the prize $19,000 CDN , Prize is only valid for departure on July 3, 2023, from Vancouver.

    Prize Excludes: Airport transfers to and from Vancouver, Travel Insurance, Additional meals which are not part of the package, optional excursions and entrance fees, gratuities, meals not indicated in the itinerary, items of a personal nature such as laundry, dry cleaning, phone calls, drinks, travel documentation, excess baggage charges and all personal expenses of any kind or nature.

    Knowledge reserves the right to substitute any element of the Prize with a comparable element from any other third-party vendor. For certainty, none of the brands or their associated companies are sponsors of this Contest, and Knowledge disclaims any association of such brands, trademarks, or sponsors with this Contest.

  6. The approximate value of the Prize will vary based on the then-current market value of the components of the relevant Prize, together with any substitutions of elements made by Knowledge in its sole discretion and in accordance with these Contest Rules.
  7. The Prize must be accepted as awarded without substitution and is not transferable, not exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash. Knowledge reserves the right to substitute the Prize in whole or in part, including without limitation any component thereof, for one of equal or greater value, in the event that all or any of the components of a Prize are unavailable or for any other reason in Knowledge’s sole discretion. In the event that a Winner is unable to redeem any or all of the Prize components awarded to him/her due to reasons beyond the control of Knowledge, its employees, representatives, agents, and all parties associated with this Contest, without limitation, no compensation or substitution prize will be provided. In the event that the initial Winner declines or forfeits the Prize, Knowledge shall randomly select an alternate Winner from among the eligible entries.
  8. Knowledge will select the winning entry on or about November 15, 2022. Knowledge will contact the Winner by telephone in order to award the Prize. In order to be eligible to receive the Prize:
    1. The relevant Winner must be reached by telephone within seven (7) days immediately following the selection of the winning entry.
    2. Prior to winning, any Winner must answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.
    3. The Winner will be required to sign, have witnessed, and return to Knowledge a declaration and release affirming compliance with these Official Contest Rules and releasing Knowledge from liability with respect to the Contest and the Prize.

  9. The personal information you provide to us is collected under the authority of section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Your personal information is used solely to process your donations, maintain a record of contributions, administer the Contest, and keep you informed about Knowledge’s programs and fundraising initiatives. You may unsubscribe from these communications at any time. Knowledge does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information.   10. By accepting the Prize, to the full extent permitted by law, Winner agrees to Knowledge's use of his/her name, city/province of residence, picture, biographical information, statements, voice and likeness in any advertising and publicity Knowledge may conduct relating to the Contest. Each Winner may be required to sign a separate document to this effect as a condition of being awarded the Prize.
  11. By entering this Contest, the entrant releases Knowledge and its respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, their advertising agencies, suppliers of Contest materials, Contest organizers and their respective agents, parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates from any and all claims, liability, losses or damages, costs or expenses of any kind whatsoever which arise out of or result from the entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise of the entrant of the Prize awarded in this Contest and waives all rights to any recourse in this respect. Without limiting the foregoing, Knowledge shall not be responsible for (a) any incomplete or inaccurate information that is caused by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of Contest Entries; (b) lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, service provider, on-line systems, telephone networks or telephone lines, or any other connections; (c) the theft, destruction, loss or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Contest Entries; (d) any problems with, or malfunctions or failures of, telephone networks or lines, computers or computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, viruses or bugs; (e) garbled transmissions or miscommunications; or (f) failure of any e-mail to be received by or from Knowledge for any reason, including but not limited to traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof or technical incompatibility. Knowledge, its employees, representatives, agents, and all parties associated with this Contest are not liable in the event that any portion of the Contest or any Prize is cancelled due to weather, fire, strike, acts of war or terrorism, pandemic, epidemic, outbreaks of infectious disease or any other public health crisis including quarantine measures of any government

    authority or other restrictions, or any other condition beyond their control (each a "Force Majeure Event").

  12. General Conditions: All Contest Entries become the property of Knowledge. By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees that Knowledge has not made any warranty, representation or guarantee with respect to the Prize. Mass entries, automated entries, entries submitted by third parties, and any Prize claims that are late, incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, unidentified or delayed will be void. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. Should a Winner make any false statement(s) in any document referenced above, the Winner may be required to promptly return to Knowledge his/her prize, or the cash value thereof. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the person who submitted any entry online, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The potential Winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. Knowledge reserves the right to terminate, suspend or modify this Contest, or these Contest Rules, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice or obligation if, in Knowledge’s sole opinion, any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Contest Rules. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Contest Rules and any disclosure or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including but not limited to point-of-sale materials, television advertising, print advertising or online advertising, the terms and conditions of these Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
