Delve into England's sporting heritage at Newmarket National Stud. At this working thoroughbred stud farm you may see stallions in the paddocks and, occasionally, foals in the nursery. Then onwards to London, where old and new combine. The backroads tour ends here, but your adventure continues on.

No trip to London is complete without a ride on the Hop-on Hop-off tour bus. Make your way to any of the six bus stops and then sit back, relax and take in the magical sights, sounds and iconic views of the city. Spend the last day exploring at your leisure.

Jolly Olde England: A Backroads Adventure Contest Rules

1. Contest is open to those 19 years of age and over as of Tuesday, November 13, 2018, who are residents of British Columbia only, except employees and their families of Knowledge Network Corporation (”Knowledge”) and its affiliated agencies and suppliers. No purchase is necessary.
2. Contest runs from 12:00:01 am Pacific Time (“PT”) on Friday, September 28, 2018 to 5 pm PT on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 (the “Contest Period”). To be eligible, entries must be received by Knowledge no later than 5 pm PT on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. The winner will be determined by random draw on or about November 16, 2018. Prize package must be accepted as awarded; no cash or substitutions are available. The approximate value of the prize is $13,000 CAD (thirteen thousand dollars CAD). Odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received during the Contest Period. The Prize is not transferable.
3. There are three (3) ways to enter:
  1. Make a donation to Knowledge Network during the Contest Period; OR
  2. If you are a monthly donor, your monthly donation during the Contest Period will be your automatic entry into the Contest; OR
  3. Legibly print your name, address and telephone number on a plain piece of paper and mail it to:

  5. Mail-in entries must be received by Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 5 pm PT. Limit: One (1) entry per person regardless of method of entry. Duplication of a mail-in entry may result in disqualification.
4. Knowledge is not responsible for any entries that are lost, damaged, illegible, misdirected, postage due or undelivered. This includes lost or corrupted entries by donations made online.

There is one (1) prize available to be won (the “Prize”). The Prize consists of a trip for two to England from approximately May 12, 2019 to May 24, 2019 (subject to change), departing from and returning to Vancouver International Airport, BC (YVR). Prize includes two return economy airfares from Vancouver, airport transfers in Edinburgh, two nights’ accommodation in Edinburgh; Tour: seven nights’ accommodation, driver/tour leader, mini-coach transportation, full English breakfast daily, three evening meals, 1 lunch, Cambridge punting; entrance fees to Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Durham Cathedral, Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Blue John Cavern, Cropwell Bishop Creamery, Ripley Castle, Chatsworth House, Sandringham Estate and Newmarket National Stud; two nights’ accommodation in London, airport transfer in London and $1,000 (one thousand dollars CAD) spending money. Prize excludes insurance, optional excursions and entrance fees, gratuities, meals not indicated in the itinerary, items of a personal nature such as laundry, dry cleaning, phone calls, drinks, travel documentation, excess baggage charges and all personal expenses of any kind or nature. This tour is operated by Goway Travel.

5. Winner and guest are responsible for all costs and expenses not specifically described as included in the Prize, including expenses incurred travelling to and from Vancouver International Airport. It is the sole responsibility of the winner and guest to obtain all necessary travel documentation including passports and visas as applicable and to comply with any customs and immigration requirements. It is recommended that the winner and guest obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary. If guest is a minor s/he must be accompanied at all times by the winner, who must be approved to supervise the minor, in writing, by his/her parent or legal guardian. Knowledge is not responsible if the winner and/or his/her guest is denied entry to, or re-entry from, any aircraft or England or Scotland. In such event, the winner and guest will be solely responsible for all additional expenses incurred and may waive participation in the Prize, in whole or in part.
6. The Prize cannot be substituted, whether in cash or otherwise, except at Knowledge’s sole discretion. Knowledge shall have the right to alter or substitute the whole or any component of the Prize with a prize of equal or greater monetary value. In the event that a confirmed winner declines or forfeits the Prize, Knowledge may randomly select an alternate winner from among the eligible entries. If it is not reasonably possible to award the Prize to an alternate prior to scheduled departure, the Prize may be forfeited.
7. Knowledge will select the winning entry on or about November 16, 2018. Knowledge will contact the winner by telephone in order to award the Prize. In order to be eligible to receive the Prize:
  1. The winner must be reached by telephone within seven (7) days immediately following the selection of the winning entry.
  2. Prior to winning, winner must answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.
  3. Winner and guest will be required to sign, have witnessed, and return to Knowledge a declaration and release affirming compliance with these Official Contest Rules and releasing Knowledge from liability with respect to the Contest and the Prize.
8. If any one of the above conditions in awarding the Prize is not met, the selected entrant will be disqualified and shall not be entitled to receive the Prize. Knowledge reserves the right select at random another eligible entrant as a potential Prize winner.
9. The personal information you provide to us is used solely to process your donations, maintain a record of contributions, administer the Contest, and keep you informed about Knowledge’s programs and fundraising initiatives. You may unsubscribe from these communications at any time. Knowledge does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. 10. By accepting the Prize, to the full extent permitted by law, winner agrees to Knowledge's use of his/her name, city/province of residence, picture, biographical information, statements, voice and likeness in any advertising and publicity Knowledge may conduct relating to the Contest. The winner may be required to sign a document to this effect.
11. Individuals making donations may request that they be excluded from eligible Contest entries by phone, email or in writing.
12. By entering this Contest, the entrant releases Knowledge and its respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, their advertising agencies, suppliers of Contest materials, Contest organizers and their respective agents, parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates from any and all claims, liability, losses or damages, costs or expenses of any kind whatsoever which arise out of or result from the entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise of the entrant of the Prize awarded in this Contest and waives all rights to any recourse in this respect.
13. General Conditions: All entries become the property of Knowledge. By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees that Knowledge has not made any warranty, representation or guarantee with respect to the Prize. Mass entries, automated entries, entries submitted by third parties, and any entries or prize claims that are late, incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, unidentified or delayed will be void. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. Should a winner make any false statement(s) in any document referenced above, the winner may be required to promptly return to Knowledge his/her prize, or the cash value thereof. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the person who submitted any entry online, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
