Discover six magnificent European seaside cities that harmoniously blend rich history with modern sensibilities. Start your holiday with a fairytale journey through Copenhagen’s colourful canals and cobbled squares to find the famed statue of the Little Mermaid sitting on her harbourside rock. Stroll through the quaint coastal town of Warnemünde, Germany and hop on a train to the impressive Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.

Wander into the Middle Ages along the twisting cobblestone lanes and iron street lamps of Tallinn, Estonia. Gothic spires, medieval markets and trendy cafés define this historic town. Immerse yourself in the classical opulence of St. Petersburg, home to more than 200 museums and one of the largest English gardens in Europe.

Find relaxation at a traditional Finnish sauna in Helsinki before picking up a piece of Scandinavian style in one of the many bustling markets. Tickle your taste buds with meatballs, lingonberries, and fresh cinnamon buns in Stockholm’s medieval centre, Gamla Stan.

Leisure Day
Today is totally free and at leisure. Take in the Copenhagen Canal, re-live medieval times in the Latin Quarter, or enjoy some of Europe’s finest shopping on the nearby Strøget Street.

Your hotel is the vibrant Nyhavn District. The Copenhagen Canal is right outside your door, while the 18-century Amalienborg Palace is reached within 10 minutes on foot. Strøget, Copenhagen’s main shopping street, is 650 meters away.

Get ready to set sail! Board your magnificent cruise ship in Copenhagen, and prepare to cast off into the Baltic Sea.

Berlin

Arrive in the quaint coastal town of Warnemünde, and take a train ride to Berlin, Germany. It’s been more than two decades since the walls came down and Berlin became unified in many ways, including the pursuit of joy. Famous landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag will fascinate, and the elegant Bavarian Quarter amazes.

Tallin

Experience this historic medieval town with its twisting cobblestone lanes and iron street lamps, Gothic spires and medieval markets. There are many cafes, restaurants and boutiques if you are looking for a mix of historic ambience and cutting-edge culture that defines Tallinn.

Tallin

Have the pleasure of enjoying two nights in St. Petersburg. Known as the cultural capital of Russia, this is a beautiful city offering a blend of European architecture and Russian history.

St Petersburg

Your second day in St. Petersburg is free to explore the city on your own. Known as the “Venice of the North”, the city is home to more than 200 museums and one of the largest English gardens in Europe!

Helsinki

The ship then sails on to Helsinki in Finland, a classic sea-city defined by a dramatic coastline coloured by bays and inlets. Helsinki maintains a compelling balance between its historical roots and Art Nouveau architecture.

Stockholm

Dock – 8:00 AM
Depart – 4:00 PM

The next day brings you to Stockholm, Sweden. The city is spread over 14 islands connected by 50 bridges on the south east coast of Sweden. It combines classical and modern architecture reflected in many of its interesting buildings.

Today you sail back to Copenhagen, Denmark. This is the last day to enjoy the cruise ship’s amenities.

Knowledge Network: Official Contest Rules
Wonders of the Baltic Sea

1. Contest is open to those 19 years of age and over as of Tuesday, November 12, 2019, who are residents of British Columbia only, except employees and their families of Knowledge Network Corporation (”Knowledge”) and its affiliated agencies and suppliers. No purchase is necessary..
2. Contest runs from 12:00:01 am Pacific Time (“PT”) on Friday, September 27, 2019 to 5 pm PT on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 (the “Contest Period”). To be eligible, entries must be received by Knowledge no later than 5 pm PT on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. The winner will be determined by random draw on or about November 19, 2019. Prize package must be accepted as awarded; no cash or substitutions are available. The approximate value of the prize is $13,000 CAD (thirteen thousand dollars CAD). Odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received during the Contest Period. The Prize is not transferable.
3. There are three (3) ways to enter:
  1. Make a donation to Knowledge Network during the Contest Period; OR
  2. If you are a monthly donor, your monthly donation during the Contest Period will be your automatic entry into the Contest; OR
  3. Legibly print your name, address and telephone number on a plain piece of paper and mail it to:

  5. Mail-in entries must be received by Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 5 pm PT. Limit: One (1) entry per person regardless of method of entry. Duplication of a mail-in entry may result in disqualification.
4. Knowledge is not responsible for any entries that are lost, damaged, illegible, misdirected, postage due or undelivered. This includes lost or corrupted entries by donations made online.

There is one (1) prize available to be won (the “Prize”). The Prize consists of a trip for two including a Baltic Cruise from approximately May 26, 2020 to June 8, 2020 (subject to change), departing from and returning to Vancouver International Airport, BC (YVR). Prize includes two return economy airfares from Vancouver - Copenhagen, airport transfers in Copenhagen, two nights’ accommodation in Copenhagen; Cruise: nine nights’ accommodation and meals while aboard ship, an additional night’s accommodation in Copenhagen after the cruise, airport transfer in Copenhagen and $1,000 (one thousand dollars CAD) spending money. Prize excludes insurance, optional excursions and entrance fees, gratuities, meals not indicated in the itinerary, items of a personal nature such as laundry, dry cleaning, phone calls, drinks, travel documentation, excess baggage charges and all personal expenses of any kind or nature. This trip is operated by Goway Travel. The cruise is operated by Norwegian Cruise Lines.

5. Winner and guest are responsible for all costs and expenses not specifically described as included in the Prize, including expenses incurred travelling to and from Vancouver International Airport. It is the sole responsibility of the winner and guest to obtain all necessary travel documentation including passports and visas as applicable and to comply with any customs and immigration requirements. It is recommended that the winner and guest obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary. If guest is a minor s/he must be accompanied at all times by the winner, who must be approved to supervise the minor, in writing, by his/her parent or legal guardian. Knowledge is not responsible if the winner and/or his/her guest is denied entry to, or re-entry from, any aircraft or any country. In such event, the winner and guest will be solely responsible for all additional expenses incurred and may waive participation in the Prize, in whole or in part.
6. The Prize cannot be substituted, whether in cash or otherwise, except at Knowledge’s sole discretion. Knowledge shall have the right to alter or substitute the whole or any component of the Prize with a prize of equal or greater monetary value. In the event that a confirmed winner declines or forfeits the Prize, Knowledge may randomly select an alternate winner from among the eligible entries. If it is not reasonably possible to award the Prize to an alternate prior to scheduled departure, the Prize may be forfeited.
7. Knowledge will select the winning entry on or about November 19, 2019. Knowledge will contact the winner by telephone in order to award the Prize. In order to be eligible to receive the Prize:
  1. The winner must be reached by telephone within seven (7) days immediately following the selection of the winning entry.
  2. Prior to winning, winner must answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.
  3. Winner and guest will be required to sign, have witnessed, and return to Knowledge a declaration and release affirming compliance with these Official Contest Rules and releasing Knowledge from liability with respect to the Contest and the Prize.
8. If any one of the above conditions in awarding the Prize is not met, the selected entrant will be disqualified and shall not be entitled to receive the Prize. Knowledge reserves the right select at random another eligible entrant as a potential Prize winner.
9. The personal information you provide to us is used solely to process your donations, maintain a record of contributions, administer the Contest, and keep you informed about Knowledge’s programs and fundraising initiatives. You may unsubscribe from these communications at any time. Knowledge does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. If at any time you no longer wish to be contacted by Knowledge, please call 604.431.3222 or toll-free 1.877.456.6988. 10. By accepting the Prize, to the full extent permitted by law, winner agrees to Knowledge's use of his/her name, city/province of residence, picture, biographical information, statements, voice and likeness in any advertising and publicity Knowledge may conduct relating to the Contest. The winner may be required to sign a document to this effect.
11. Individuals making donations may request that they be excluded from eligible Contest entries by phone, email or in writing.
12. By entering this Contest, the entrant releases Knowledge and its respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, their advertising agencies, suppliers of Contest materials, Contest organizers and their respective agents, parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates from any and all claims, liability, losses or damages, costs or expenses of any kind whatsoever which arise out of or result from the entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise of the entrant of the Prize awarded in this Contest and waives all rights to any recourse in this respect.
13. General Conditions: All entries become the property of Knowledge. By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees that Knowledge has not made any warranty, representation or guarantee with respect to the Prize. Mass entries, automated entries, entries submitted by third parties, and any entries or prize claims that are late, incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, unidentified or delayed will be void. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. Should a winner make any false statement(s) in any document referenced above, the winner may be required to promptly return to Knowledge his/her prize, or the cash value thereof. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the person who submitted any entry online, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
