In New Brunswick, Cecelia Brooks combines traditional Indigenous knowledge with science. Known as Samuqwan Mi'kiju (The Water Grandmother), she is building an inclusive holistic understanding from which to address environmental issues.

Filmmaker Dianne Whelan hears stories embedded in the land, rocks and animals of the Qu'Appelle Valley. This Indigenous wisdom teaches and nurtures our role as stewards to take care of the land and live in a sustainable way.

Filmmaker Dianne Whelan spends time with Indigenous people in Fort Smith and Fort Resolution, hearing stories that warn of the rapid and radical changes occurring in the North. But hope can be seen through teaching children the language and culture.
