Tamara Roberts

I think of Knowledge as a stunning visual library. Every time you turn it on you discover something new, presented in such a beautiful way.

As a professional portrait photographer, Tamara Roberts knows that taking a good photo isn’t about the equipment you use - whether a smartphone or the top Hasselblad on the market. The skill is in the eye. And when it comes to taking a good portrait, it’s what you see in the person, too. “You have to get to know them, to talk to them and make sure they’re relaxed. It’s a discovery every time, and that’s what makes my job so interesting,” she says. Tamara’s love of photography is connected in many ways to her passion for lifelong learning. “I just have a natural inquisitiveness about the world – everything fascinates me.”

Tamara has discovered that her desire to learn about the world is fulfilled, at least in part, by Knowledge. It was her mother who first introduced Tamara to the station, and she quickly came to love it. “There are so many interesting shows on art and people and nature - just about any subject you can imagine.” Tamara soon became a Partner, knowing that she was getting something of real value from her donation. “I think of Knowledge as a stunning visual library,” she explains. “Every time you turn it on you discover something new, presented in such a beautiful way.”
